She graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism at Illinois State University, gaining experience in Chicago’s regional magazine scene and settling in as an editor for a national B2B media company in the professional skincare and spa industry. She further developed an international understanding of the industry, achieving a master's degree in magazine publishing in Edinburgh, U.K.
